>SPONSOR “JET AGE MICK” in his Everest Base Camp Quest in October 2019
Mick Goodband is embarking on an lifetime adventure and will be trekking to Mount Everest base camp in October 2019. “It’s something I have always wanted to do and I thought it would be good to provide some benefit to help the museums latest fundraising initiative for Phase 2”. Mick’s route is from London to Kathmandu then on to Tenzing–Hillary Airport at Lukla, one of the most dramatically located airports anywhere in the World. A white knuckle ride if there ever was one ! From Lukla the trek will take him higher up into the Himalayas passing through and staying at the “Sherpa” villages of Phakding (2,610 m), Namche Bazaar (3,400 m), Deboche (3,700 m), Dingboche (4,410 m), Lobuje (4,940 m), Gorak Shep (5,220 m) and onto Mount Everest Base Camp (5,600 m). He will also be attempting to climb Kalar Pattar (5,550 m). The whole adventure will take 19 days. Mick says that the whole issue of altitude is an unknown quantity to him.</
