Providing Awareness
Jet Age Museum is an important part of the local and wider community serving the educational sector, youth and social groups and local businesses, and is a key tourist destination helping to contribute to the local economy.
The museum is essential in providing awareness locally, nationally and globally of Gloucestershire’s aviation heritage, particularly, the initiation and development of jet powered flight by the Gloster Aircraft Company.
Supporting Local Events

Our Partnerships & Representation
We enjoy strong links with the armed forces, cadet organisations, military charities and the aeronautical engineering community, which allows for the exchanging of knowledge and ideas. This can lead to interested parties signing up as “volunteers” to take part in the museum activity, yet another important facet of community engagement.
The Museum also enjoys representation at many modelling shows in the county and beyond where those Jet Age volunteers proficient in aeromodelling ensure that the aircraft in Jet Age Museum, the home of the Gloucestershire Aviation Collection, are appropriately recognised as the inspiration for many of their models.
Biggles – The Replica Biplane
And we have, Biggles our very own small-scale replica biplane, that allows children to sit in and enjoy trying their hand at ‘piloting’ without getting airborne, which has delighted children at fetes, fun days and steam fairs throughout Gloucestershire over many past years. However, with Biggles now being 30 years old he can now longer endure the longer journeys around the country so tends only to attend venues close to the Museum on his outings.
